Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC Endorses Taxpayer Friend Ted Gaines for State Senate

Sacramento -- The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC announced today the endorsement of Assemblyman Ted Gaines for State Senate.

"Assemblyman Ted Gaines is the only candidate in this race who has a record of siding solidly with taxpayers," said Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.

Gaines opposes any scheme to lower the voting threshold for tax increases or to dismantle Proposition 13, which has protected Californians from unfair property tax increases.

In the race to fill the senate seat, Gaines will face off against tax-backing Assemblyman Roger Niello, who voted last year to increase the sales tax, the income tax and the car tax --- taxes that are costing a typical California family nearly $1,200 a year.

"State taxpayers are staggering under the heavy tax burden imposed by Niello and his allies in the Legislature," said Coupal. "It is vital that we elect a candidate, Ted Gaines, who will defend the interests of taxpayers."
