Board of Equalization Members Diane Harkey and George Runner Endorse Ted Gaines for BOE


SACRAMENTO,CA – Vice Chairwoman Diane Harkey and Senator George Runner, Ret., the Republican Members of the California State Board of Equalization, today took the unprecedented step of endorsing Senator Ted Gaines (R-El Dorado Hills) for the BOE, District 1 seat. Senator Gaines is a candidate in 2018 for the District 1 seat on the Board of Equalization, which is currently represented byGeorge Runner, who is leaving the Board in 2018 due to term limits. 

"California taxpayers need a strong advocate on the Board of Equalization when facing challenges personally as well as with their businesses. I know Ted Gaines is a person we can count on to deliver reliable, fair, steadfast leadership,” said Vice Chairwoman Diane Harkey, the highest ranking Republican constitutional officer in California. 

“I am proud to endorse Ted Gaines for my seat on the California State Board ofEqualization,” said Member George Runner. “I’ve worked alongside Ted for many years. He’s been a rock-solid supporter of small businesses and taxpayers in the Legislature. Ted Gaines will continue my fight to limit taxes and reduce burdensome regulations.”

The early endorsements of Senator Gaines by the two incumbent Republican Members of theBoard of Equalization are a clear sign that Gaines’ campaign for the vastDistrict 1 seat on the Board of Equalization is picking up momentum. The1st District, which consists of all or parts of 30 counties,has been represented by Runner since 2010.

Senate Republicans Endorse Ted Gaines for BOE


SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Ted Gaines’ campaign for the State Board of Equalization (BOE) today announced the endorsement of ten members of the California State Senate.   Senator Gaines is running for the BOE District 1 seat, which is currently represented by George Runner.  Runner is leaving the Board in 2018 due to term limits and has endorsed Gaines for his seat.

The following Members of the California State Senate have endorsed Gaines’ campaign for the Board of Equalization:

In addition to these Senators, sixteen members of the California State Assembly and both incumbent Republican members of the BOE, George Runner and Diane Harkey, have also endorsed Gaines’ campaign.

Congressman Tom McClintock Endorses Ted Gaines for Board of Equalization


SACRAMENTO, CA – Congressman Tom McClintock (R-Granite Bay) today announced his endorsement of Senator Ted Gaines (R-El Dorado Hills) for the Board of Equalization (BOE) District 1 seat. Senator Gaines is a candidate in 2018 for BOE District 1, which is currently represented by George Runner, who is leaving the Board in 2018 due to term limits.

"It is an honor to earn the endorsement of Congressman Tom McClintock for this important office,” said Senator Gaines. “I’m running for the BOE to advocate for and protect taxpayers, small business owners and families. I am the only candidate California taxpayers can count on to deliver proven conservative leadership at the BOE.”

Congressman McClintock joins both Diane Harkey and George Runner, the two incumbent Republican Members of the Board, in supporting Ted Gaines for the BOE. These early endorsements from conservative leaders in California are another clear sign that Gaines’ Board of Equalization campaign is gaining momentum.

“I’ve served alongside Tom McClintock for many years,” said Senator Gaines. “Together we have helped stop billions of dollars in tax increases. SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Ted Gaines’ campaign for the State Board of Equalization (BOE) today announced the endorsement of 16 members of the California State Assembly. Senator Gaines is running for the BOE District 1 seat, which is currently represented by George Runner. Runner is leaving the Board in 2018 due to term limits and has endorsed Gaines for his seat.

After the recent withdrawal of Senator Tom Berryhill from the race, Senator Gaines is the only candidate running for the District 1 seat on the Board of Equalization.
